The Prague Metropolitan Chorus

Clavis Agency > The Ensembles Represented by the Clavis Agency > The Prague Metropolitan Chorus

The Prague Metropolitan Chorus was founded by Richard Sporka for a pragmatic purpose, to record the 25 most difficult tenor arias of the Italian and French bel canto. The recording was carried out in 2004 in Dvořák Hall of Rudolfinum and the Domovina recording studio.

The soloist was an American tenor singer Gregory Kunde. The recording was conducted by Marco Zambelli, an acclaimed Italian conductor. The agency realized other activities of this ensemble such as the world premiere of Oratorium of Conciliation by Jiří Pavlica with a recording for the Czech TV.

The Prague Metropolitan Chorus has an ambition to continue the existing art work. The agency is preparing new tours and new dramaturgy. The choir will be led by the choirmaters Pavel Baxa and Bohumil Kulínský in Christmas projects. In 2012, the choir will work also abroad.

The choir is composed of experienced, professional singers who are invited to particular projects based on the informed decision of the choirmaster who is balancing the composition of voices for a given dramaturgy.
